Computational Nanoscience

Inna Ponomareva is a computational physicist whose research interests are at the intersection of condensed matter physics and materials science. She designs and implements computational experiments to understand fundamental physics that governs materials properties, behavior, and response to external stimuli. Computational experimentation is based on first-principles bottom-up approach with nanoscale or atomistic resolution. The current focus of her research are multifunctional ferroics, such as ferroelectrics, ferromagnets, ferroelastics, and multiferroics. She is a devoted educator who truly enjoys sharing her knowledge and expertise with students and scholars of all ages.
