Submitted : Fall 2018

Cigarette smoking statistics in the United States was conducted during the 1900s through 2015. According to the current statistics, the trends of cigarette smoking in the United States have decreased significantly among people 18 years and older. The data will be gathered and a scatter plot of number of cigarettes consumed per capita versus time in years will be created using excel. The pattern of data points should depict a polynomial function with the general equation of y = ax² + bx +c. Furthermore, the graph should demonstrate a decreasing trend. When the scatter plot was created, the results confirmed the decrease in the consumption of cigarettes in the United States.
