Unsteady Temperature Distribution

by Carmen Rosales

Submitted : Fall 2008

A very long circular bar can be modeled as an infinitely long cylinder. In this project the cylinder has an initial temperature but then it is suddenly exposed to a different temperature in its in environment. Depending on the physical properties of the cylinder, using a given heat transfer model we are able to evaluate the unsteady temperature distribution in a cylinder from the surface to the centerline of the cylinder using programming tools.
