Submitted : Fall 2009 The data that was analyzed in this project came from a laboratory experiment that examined the effect of various concentrations of arsenic on the growth of foraminifera. It was found that the plotted probability density function for each of these trials followed the same general shape. With this shape, an equation was made from which the area beneath the curve was determined for a specific equation. With the use of this information probability of a number being found between two numbers, the expected value, variance and standard deviation was determined for one trial. Thus through the finding of the general distribution function, the expected value, variance and standard deviation can be found without the all of the data, only the specific turning points of the probability density function.
