Finding the Flow of Water in a Pool

Math is used in our everyday lives. It can be used in many ways to make sense of what is happening in our world. A good way to put this into perspective is by using a mathematical model. Through this method, a swimming pool will be modeled by keeping track of the water levels by using the volume and the waterflow. In order to find the change in height of the water levels, we use related rates. We also incorporate the volume of the pool to find the the change in the waters level. This will be done by taking the derivative of both sides of the volume formula.
