Engineering >> Civil & Environmental EngineeringFinding Tension Force and Pressure for the problem of determining the correct equipmentby Nicolas Jara
Submitted : Fall 2020 To perform rigging maneuvers determining the right equipment and machinery is very important to successfully perform the task. I am given a system with a certain load being held stationary by a crane to solve the problem of successfully perform a rigging maneuver by finding Tension Force and the Pressure to determine whether the correct equipment is being used. To solve the problem I use algebra, trigonometry, physics and the manipulation of these subjects in order to determine which equipment and machinery is correct. This procedure proves many factors go into simple looking task such as the angle of the sling, the material of the equipment, the sum of the forces, the type of environment between many others, influence how the lift must be done. This method may be more time consuming, but it can prove to be more precise. Related Links:CDC - The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
