The goal is to explore the limiting parameters of a gas turbine. The relationship between the design and functionality is also a big consideration in optimization. The gas turbine functions optimally when the power output from ignited fuel exceeds the amount of energy it takes for the machine to function. The gas turbine’s converts chemical energy into mechanical energy, which highlights the importance of ratios in its calculations. By using SCR (selective catalyst reduction), we have been able to effectively lower greenhouse gas emissions and keep toxic Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) at minimal levels. The main challenge that will be addressed is whether we have a way to increase performance, or energy per unit of fuel.
