Submitted : Spring 2014

Are species governed by a universal biological system that limits our existence? The intricacy of one’s lifespan is difficult to determine being that several factors can shorten or prolong life.  However, using the Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient a correlation was determined between life expectancy and heart rate, weight, and blood pressure of several species.  The variable with the highest degree of correlation is heart rate.
