Use the Torque Speed Curve of the gasoline engine for 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, to find the 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) acceleration time and the theoretical maximum speed. In order to calculate the acceleration time, the project creates a curve of Speed and Force Inverse (acceleration), and uses Riemann Sum to integrate the acceleration time of each small speed interval. According to Newton’s Second Law, the formula F=ma is used to get Speed and Force Inverse of the vehicle. The engine torque is assumed to be a constant at a specific RPM regardless of gear ratio and throttle. The required data for this project are basic vehicle parameters including Torque-Speed curve of the engine, gear ratios, wheel/tire geometry, and body weight.
