Behavior of a Pedestrian Bridge Under Uniform Loading

by Odelkys Marquez

Submitted : Spring 2013

We will show how bridge engineers use calculus to make certain a bridge, is safe and well-designed. Bridge engineers use principles of mechanics and calculus to calculate how beams bend. We will be finding the load, shear force, bending moment, rotation, and deflection of a pedestrian bridge crossing above a two lane roadway.
