Submitted : Fall 2012 The object of this study is to find the number of combinations of heat shock proteins (HSP) antagonists that can be grouped together in order to lower the expression of HSP in cancer growth. In order to find these combinations, a list of 84 heat shock proteins that are known to be overexpressed in human cancer cells must be generated. From this list, basic probability rules and theories, such as counting rules for permutations and combinations, are applied to the 84 known human HSP that can be inhibited as an attempt to treat malignant cancer growth.
