Stress Distribution of a Beam Under a Load

by Juan Cardenas

Submitted : Fall 2009

Finding the stresses and forces that supports will experience due to loads distributed on beams and structures is an important aspect of design. A designer should calculate and predict how the structure will perform and which materials to use before construction. We try to simplify this task by elaborating a spreadsheet where the engineer will only have to introduce the information of the structure and the forces at the supports will be calculated automatically.
