The Relationship Between the Length of Chinook Parr and the Temperature of the Water in the Muskegon

by Kamil Taneja

Submitted : Fall 2015

This project’s goal is to determine if there is a linear relationship between the length of Chinook parr and the temperature of the water that it lives in. Chinook parr is a type of salmon that lives in Muskegon River in Michigan.. The least squares method to figure out the linear regression formula for data that I found on Lake Michigan’s Fish Community Data Set. After finding the linear regression equation and the value, it was noted that there wasn’t a relationship between the temperature of the water and the length of the Chinook parr.
