Engineering >> Electrical EngineeringAntennas and Transmit Powerby Thomas Williams
Submitted : Spring 2012 For this project it was necessary to find the transmit power of an antenna, used in a line-of-sight communication link, given the antenna’s power density and its distance from a similar receiving antenna. A conclusion then had to be made on whether or not the antenna would be a viable option for the communication link. After doing the necessary calculus and utilizing the Friis Transmission formula the transmit power was determined to be around 2.45 watts. Because the antenna was purely lossless and consumed less power than a household light bulb it was determined that the antenna was a viable option for the communication link. Related Links:
