Submitted : Spring 2011 The purpose of this project was to determine whether the number of customers who use self-checkout will increases, decreases, or is stable over a period of time. Data was collected from a local supermarket with four self-checkout machines. The data was of an average weeks use of the self-checkout machines. From this data an equation for the line of best fit was calculated. We then used this equation to determine the future use of self service machines.
