Analysis of Shear and Bending Moment Values

by Ruth Edwards

Submitted : Spring 2011

In reality, objects subject to gravitational forces behave differently at different points in space. When an object is suspended and is not evenly supported, it is allowed to bend in certain places as well as respond with an internal shear force that is not uniform throughout the body. To find these static forces, Shear and Bending Moment Diagrams were created and are very efficient for calculating reactions to loads.
