Engineering >> Computer Science & EngineeringRobotics: Robotic Boatby Ryan Fagan
Submitted : Fall 2010
An autonomous, robotic boat has two rotary motors at the back which control the speed as well as the direction. The boat uses GPS to know its current location and uses vector calculus to find the speed and direction needed to reach the next goal position. The boat uses a compass sensor which gives its orientation. The robotic ship also has two state-of-the-art sensors; one which can calculate the wind direction and intensity, and the other calculates the ocean current direction and intensity.
