Energy consumption is one of the most pertinent issues our economy has been facing for decades. The Information Technology industry has been putting their research towards a better approach in Ethernet Switch power duration and Terawatt utilization. In this report, the PAUSE Power Cycle is shown to significantly lower electricity usage through periodically shutting down LAN Switches and turning them on again without compromising the quality of Internet Applications. Data was collected and charted. The results indicate that setting the Arrival Rate to 3Mb/s, the Service Rate to 10Mb/s and turning off the LAN Switch every 21ms and turning it on again for 9ms can provide the maximum efficiency towards PC users. The results also show that the average queue length is the smallest with these data settings.
