The Complexity of Mathematics Behind the Force of a Baseball Hitting Off of a Bat

Submitted : Spring 2021

I was curious if I could calculate the force that a baseball is hit in the thousandth of a second that the bat and baseball make contact. To do this, I had to first figure out the change in the momentum of the ball once it hits the bat using a continuous time function. I also had to use some constants in the equation to make a circumstance where I could use this function to solve the problem that I wanted to figure out. In the end I was able to figure out an integral I could use to solve this problem.
