Natural Sciences >> OtherCalculating the Time of Death of a Bodyby Isabel Huerta
Submitted : Spring 2021 Being able to determine the estimated time of death is very useful in forensic sciences. Newton’s Law of Cooling states that the temperature difference between a cooling body and its surrounding decreases exponentially. Using this, we can integrate the formula to solve for the time of death. In conclusion, after integration we were able to determine the time of death to be approximately 1 hour before the body was discovered.
