A Pandemic Purchase

Covid-19 has become a major problem in Medical Science that has caused many ensuing issues, such as an increase in over-the-counter medications. Based on the pharmaceutical sales of over-the-counter (“OTC”) medications and the impact of Covid-19 cases, the calculus-based formulas, such as the Kermack-McKendrick theory, was used to predict the spread of an infectious disease and the exponential growth equation was used to predict the rise in the future sales of OTC, which may lead to another drug shortage and panic hoarding. With a vaccine on the rise, panic hoarding will still cause an increase in OTC medications sales in the next four plus years.
