Applying Population densities with integrals to calculate populations near Brownfield sites

Brownfield sites are areas of land have experienced some sort of contamination from pollutants or hazardous substances and have been abandoned or have the potential to be reused, expanded or redeveloped (Overview of EPA's Brownfields program, 2020). These sites are redeveloped into areas that promote community involvement and improvement and may focus on low-income areas. For instance, many areas are repurposed into housing areas, parks, as well as commercial and industrial developments sites (Overview of EPA's Brownfields program, 2020).  Here the emphasis of the project relies on calculating population estimates surrounding completed Brownfield sites. Using calculus-based integrals in addition to population densities will allow for accurate estimations for a particular sample area surrounding the park. This project will focus on a completed project in the Downtown Tampa area where a small park was created to service the residents within the area since there are not many that accommodate to outdoor activities. Located at 1218 E Madison St, Tampa, FL 33602 the focus of the project will be this particular park.
