Submitted : Spring 2019

During the spring semester of 2019,over the course of 114 days, the University of South Florida’s Library loaned out 10,166 books. Finding out the probability of how many books might be checked out on a particular day can change how quickly and efficiently library workers  reshelve returned books. This project report aims to detail, from the data gathered from the 2019 spring semester, the probability of about 50 to 150 books being loaned out on a particular day. This was done using normal distribution and the probability density function. The yielded results show that there should on average be about 50 to 150 books being reshelved everyday to replace those being loaned out.
