Submitted : Fall 2017 Dance and mathematics are usually thought as of complete opposites, but in reality, calculus and physics describe why and how dancers move and preform. While dancers turn and leap, every movement can be described by a formula. Dance is art, shown by movements. While calculus, a branch of mathematics that uses derivatives and integrals for functions. Combining both physics and calculus allows us to find the reasons why a dancer can move the way they do. Dance is thought of as a flow of movement and an expressive art, on the other hand, calculus is a strict set of rules to follow in order to problem solve.
