Medicine >> HospitalEffects of Variable Injection Rates on Thermodilution Cardiac Outputby Brian Cardona
Submitted : Fall 2013 Thermodilution cardiac output is a common method used in interventional cardiology to determine the cardiac output of the heart. This method employs the tracking of temperature changes within the heart, and is time dependent. The timing of this injection can cause a change in the overall cardiac output. It will be shown that the small time variations in the injections will not effect the overall cardiac output greatly, and certainly will not effect the clinical treatment of the patients.
