Project Europa

This project uses Newton’s laws of physics and integral calculus to calculate the time it would take a rocket launched from just outside earth’s atmosphere to travel to Jupiter’s moon, Europa. This requires one to derive or use various physics rocket equations to calculate the initial acceleration and final velocity of the rocket. In doing this, one can evaluate the feasibility of traveling to a location across the solar system 390.4 million miles away from earth. After calculating the physics behind traveling across the solar system one can conclude it is a difficult task to travel such a long distance in a short amount of time and currently it would require too much time or rocket fuel to make this journey practical.
