Analysis of Radioactive Decay

Starting with 1000 Polonium-218 atoms, the amount of atoms present after 30 minutes was calculated for Polonium-218, Lead-214, Bismuth-214, Polonium-214, and Lead-210, as seen in chart above. Using the kinetics of the reaction equations, the amount of Polonium-218 atoms was easily calculated. To calculate the amount of atoms for both Lead-214 and Bismuth-214, integration was necessary. Finally, to find the amount of atoms of Polonium-214 and Lead-210, common sense reasoning was used.
