Blood Glucose Levels

For this project, I was given a problem many people today face. When a healthy person eats food, the carbohydrates in food are broken down into glucose. When the glucose levels in the blood rise, inulin is released in the body to signal to the body to store the glucose as glycogen. In a diabetic body, there is not enough insulin produced to regulate the glucose in the blood, causing high levels of glucose in the blood, and damaging body mechanisms.

I was given data obtained from monitoring a person’s glucose blood concentration after a meal. An equation was derived from the data, which was then used to compare the intake of glucose a diabetic was allowed to take, without exceeding a certain concentration of glucose in the blood.
