Engineering >> Computer Science & EngineeringRobotics: Robot Motionby Javier Cruz
Submitted : Spring 2012 Robotics is one field where the fundamentals of engineering, science, and technology are tested to produce a more efficient and suitable design. Using the given diagram from page 1, we were expected to find an equation using the law of cosine relating L, R, x, and Θ. Using the equation found from the original law of cosine, we were to find the first and second derivatives of the function which corresponds to the linear velocity and acceleration of the function, respectively. From the derivatives linear velocity, rotation speed, and distance traveled by the robot were to be calculated. After analyzing the data from all the equations, the functions were then use to plot the velocity of the robot’s piston to show the speed during a single rotation. This once again incorporates the fundamentals of various fields in robotics making it extremely unique.
