Diffusion of Copper into Silicon

Silicon is the cornerstone of modern electronics; every circuit is made by putting components (mostly with metal copper contacts) in to a semi-conducting material (most commonly silicon). One problem generated from this method is that copper has a tendency to defuse into silicon. (Random House Dictionary et. al) Diffusion is the process in which a higher concentration system
