Robotic arms are improving with every advancement in technology or invention. The concept of an arm or electronic prosthetic has transformed from a remote controlled hassle to an autonomous or simple brain controlled function. In order to do this, it is important to develop a method to map the motion of the arm. Using excel and a system of equations to quickly solve for the position of a joint and the angles involved in the arm will eliminate a significant amount of time spent on tedious calculations. By breaking the motion down into points, one can compile a table to diagram motion and analyze how the angles and joints move over the step sizes. This information can be used in troubleshooting, but is primarily used as a technique for autonomous robots to interact with objects that they can see and determine their coordinates.
