The assignment at hand was to examine the emblem of the Toyota brand, plot it on a graph, calculate each curve and write an estimate equation for each edge of the emblem, and calculate the area between each curve. After multiplying this value by the depth of the emlem, this would result in calculating the total volume amount of material needed for purchase to fill in a 3-D printer and fill in the gaps of the Toyota emblem, as given as a task by the IT Networker Reyad Essa. The program used to run the 3-D printer to more accurately graph the image of the logo and calculate how much material is required to fill in the gaps of the emblem can be done, but the task at hand was to see how accurately I could determine the amount of material required to fill in the gaps without the use of the software. I used reference points per point of each curve to give me average slopes in between each part of the graph in order to create a formula to represent the line of each curve as closely as possible. Then with the use of integration, I calculated the area between two curves by integrating the upper curve and subtracting by the area of the lower curve with reference to the bottom of the emblem placed on a x-y graph. Since the logo was symmetrical across the y-axis, I only needed to reference one-half of the graph, then multiply by 2 to calculate the total area of the gaps between each curve, then multiply by the depth of the emblem to calculate my final volume result which determines how much material it needs and the degree of accuracy the problem will be solved without automated technology performing the task in seconds.
