Natural Sciences >> OtherPlant Mass Differentiationby Christian Andrews
Submitted : Spring 2019 This project is an attempt to provide a mathematical approach to the evaluation of new crop species being introduced and researched within Florida. This project is in conjunction with the University of Florida Gulf Coast Research Center which focuses on agricultural development and urban tree research for various Florida areas. This project uses allometric equations and the differentiation of the equation to determine plant mass levels throughout time which can be used to determine if there is an overall trend for success or an overall trend for failure. This project is a work in progress as the data from tree growth research takes many years to fully understand and allow for mathematically modelling. This research used information and methods related to tree allometry equations found in various research such as that from Avery and Burkhart in 2002 that analyzed the accuracy of various equations on different species of tree and plants.
