Submitted : Spring 2009 This project investigates the design of a resistive heating circuit used for a Biomedical purpose. By utilizing the laws of series circuits and direct current and charge, an expression is derived for the energy dissipated by the capacitor; this energy then can be transferred to heat energy delivered via the resistor. We combine this formula derived for energy dissipated by the capacitor with the knowledge that this dissipated energy equals the initial energy stored in the capacitor over infinite time. We are then able to set up a system of 3 equations with variables of resistance (R), capacitance (C), battery voltage (E) and current (I). Using given information, we can use substitution to calculate E, R, and C according to the problems
