Acceptable ranges of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrient levels in Hillsborough County

The annual averages of nitrogen and phosphorus levels for Hillsborough Country were assessed between the years 2000-2010 to investigate if they were in acceptable EPA standard levels set to avoid algal blooms. The probability that nitrogen and phosphorus levels would be in acceptable EPA levels was calculated using a standard probability density function. The probability that nitrogen was in the acceptable range was about 92% while the probability that phosphorus was in the acceptable range was close to 0.88%.
