Optimizing Sound Levels

When installing a home theater many others don’t take the time and effort to optimize the system for optimal performance. I’m a home theater installer and in my job I can use calculus to calculate how much sound will deteriorate the further it travels. I measured from the sitting location of the home theater to each speaker. Then calculated the drop in dB to compensate for it in the advanced settings of the receiver. I usually just do this step by feel and adjust it until it sounds good to me but I saw an opportunity to use what I’ve learned in a real life application.
