Engineering >> Chemical & Biomedical EngineeringUsing Integrals to Identify Chemical Formulasby Robert Core
Submitted : Spring 2014 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a process that determines where the hydrogens of a molecule are on the compound. This helps identify the compound by using magnetic frequencies. NMR spectroscopy is a very resourceful way of finding a chemical formula. Most of the math is done by the computer, but this project will describe what the computer calculates. The computer readout calculates and gives the integral of the line. All of this is important information and is derived through calculus that a majority of it is calculated from calculus. Bloch’s equation, using the integrals and determining the ratio of hydrogens is described in this project.
