Engineering >> Mechanical EngineeringPower from a Geothermal Source Using a Brayton Cycleby Samara Miller
Submitted : Spring 2014 Mechanical power can be obtained from geothermal energy through capturing the heat as steam or hot water. Using equations that are derived from the first and second laws of thermodynamics, we evaluate a Brayton cycle to find the pressure that will maximize its work per unit mass. We then find the corresponding temperatures and the work per unit mass produced by this pressure.
