Judo - The Marriage of Nature and Physics

This project calculated the efficiency of a judo hip-throw and the amount of force required and produced. With correct positioning of your body in relation to your opponent, no force would be required to throw them. Also, the force created by an average American female college student is calculated to be 964.4N. This is enough force to be able to cause skull fractions which would in turn most likely cause the opponent to lose consciousness, subdural hematoma, or death. Judo techniques are a very efficient way to apply biophysics as self-defense for any person of any size or strength.
