Submitted : Fall 2013 The main idea behind this project is to calculate how many Black rhinos and White rhinos will be poached in the year 2014 in South Africa. The Second part of the project will be calculating the population growth of the Black rhinos in Kruger National Park, a park that is well known for protecting rhinos and is home to large population of the remaining rhinos found in South Africa. The first part of the project was done by gathering number of rhinos poached since 2000. Starting at the 200 will give an ideal pass line for data because there has only been a large increase in rhino poaching within the last 5 years. After seeing the data on the graph it resembled an exponential function. Using the exponential formula I was able to find an estimated number of 1400 for the 2014. The second part of the project I used a modified Logistic equation to get an estimation of 2644 Black rhinos in Kruger National Park in 2014. Now these numbers are just estimates and are held under ideal factors with no outside interference. Related Links:
