Personal Background

I grew up in Eagle, Wisconsin , a town of about 700 back then, located 30 miles west of Milwaukee, in the heart of the Kettle Moraine Forest.

In 1991 I earned a B.S. in mathematics at Purdue University, and in 1993, I got my M.S. in Mathematics from Purdue. I did my graduate work under Prof. Juan Manfredi researching Infinite Harmonic functions in the Heisenberg group and earned my Ph.D. in 1999. Upon graduation, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for one year and then an NSF VIGRE Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan working with the late Prof. Juha Heinonen.
