At the Circulating Library
A catalogue of authors, publishers, and books, browsable by author, title, or year of publication. Also includes information on serialization.

Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition (NCSE)
A free, online edition of six nineteenth-century periodicals and newspapers: Monthly Repository, Northern Star, Leader, English Woman's Journal, Tomahawk, and Publisher's Circular.

The Victorian Plays Project: Lacy's Acting Edition of Victorian Plays (1848-1874)
The site contains a full catalogue of plays that Thomas Hailes Lacy published from 1830-1875 which are held at Birmingham Central Library, and free downloadable pdfs of plays are conitmually being added.

East London Theatre Archive (ELTA)
a database of performing arts resources, from playbills and programmes to press cuttings and photographs. Includes 15,000 digital objects, taken from different East London Theatres and V&A Theatre Collections. ELTA is led by the University of East London and is funded by the JISC Digitisation Programme.

Victorian Poetry Network
The Victorian Poetry Network (VPN) aims to be a virtual hub for Victorian poetry research and teaching. VPN is a collaborative project, bringing together scholars and students of Victorian poetry to create a dynamic digital community. VPN will achieve three things: a blog authored by the VPN team and invited scholars in the field, a resource centre for research projects and teaching, and a social space.

Victorian Women Writers Project
The Victorian Women Writers Project (VWWP) began in 1995 at Indiana University and is primarily concerned with the exposure of lesser-known British women writers of the 19th century. The collection represents an array of genres - poetry, novels, children's books, political pamphlets, religious tracts, histories, and more. VWWP contains scores of authors, both prolific and rare.

The Athenaeum index of reviews and reviewers allows users to browse or search through a database of authors, review contributors and titles, produced from the marked copies of the Athenaeum held in City University Library.
Google News Archive
A search engine specifically covering newspapers from the 1750s onwards.   It is capable of searchng the text of around 200 newspapers with on-line archives.
