Marty Gould is Assistant Professor of English. He earned a B.A. in English from Tulane University in 1994, an M.A. in English from the University of Arkansas in 1998, an M.A. in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi in 2001, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa in 2005.

Dr. Gould's research interests are in Victorian literature and culture. He is particularly interested in issues of empire in Victorian theatre and popular culture. His published articles have appeared in Victorian Review and Victorian Periodicals Review. His current book project is a study of empire and theatre in the nineteenth century.
