Research

I am interested in determining how the host immune response and microbiome interact to influence infectious disease etiology. Specifically, I am intrigued by prevention of disease using host microbes. Currently, my research is focused on evaluating acquired resistance of tree frogs to Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd), a deadly parasitic fungus that is associated with hundreds of amphibian extinctions worldwide.
