Kathleen de la Peña McCook

Kathleen de la Peņa McCook is distinguished university professor of Library and Information Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She teaches courses on human rights and librarianship, public librarianship, community building, libraries as cultural heritage institutions and adult services and lifelong learning.

She is the author of An Introduction to Public Librarianship (Neal- Schuman, 2004) and A Place at the Table: Participating in Community Building (ALA Editions, 2000).

She is a member of the editorial board of the Progressive Librarian and writes the blogs, Librarian, A Librarian at the Kitchen Table, and Union Librarian.
