The open access "Undergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two" is concerned with various applications of mathematics done by
non-mathematics majors. In particular, its purpose is to disseminate
selected calculus projects of engineering and life sciences students.
A unique feature of this journal, as shown by its title, is that each student whose work is published has been advised by two different
people: a subject area advisor (who typically, but not always, suggested the problem) and a mathematics advisor.
The students, advisors and editors are grateful to the following organizations for providing support for this journal:
the National Science Foundation (through grant DUE-0756847), the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and the Center for 21st Century Teaching Excellence (through an innovative learning-centered grant) at the University of South Florida.
