Enzymes And Speed of Biochemical Reactions

by Nha-My Do

Submitted : Spring 2012

Enzymes are mainly natural proteins that function as biological catalysts catalyze many organic chemical reactions in the cells of living organisms. Enzymes work by lowering the reaction’s activation energy, thus increase the reaction’s rate. Without the presence of enzymes, the biochemical processes proceed very slowly, or in some case not at all. Enzymes not only work efficiently and rapidly and also are biodegradable. In this project, we find out how enzymes are essential and beneficial in many aspects of life.
