Voltage Smoothing with a Capacitor

by Martin Copello

Submitted : Spring 2012

The objective of the project was to quantify the behavior of the voltage in a circuit when a capacitor is added in parallel. To meet the objective proposed in the project, we took into consideration equations, as well as the graphical perspective of these.

After finishing, it was found that the bigger the capacitance of the capacitor placed, the bigger the degree of the smoothing that the graph will suffer. That means that the capacitance and the voltage smoothing are directly proportional to each other.
