Submitted : Spring 2012 The volumes of eight sinkholes in Highlands County, Florida, were approximated using the Washer Method for generating three-dimensional solid objects. Wide ranges of sinkhole volumes were calculated based on initial field investigation data compiled by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). This is due to the wide range of subsurface features that determine the surface expression that is the sinkhole. Related Links:
