The Florida Panther Problem

by Kristi Kauzlarich

Submitted : Spring 2011

This project uses the Logistic Growth Equation to analyze the population decrease of the Florida Panther. The values are based on the actual ones to find the Intrinsic Growth Rate which tells us how fast the population decreased. The graph gives us a negative slope which led me to hypothesis that the Intrinsic Growth Rate would be less than one, which means the population is decreasing. Finding these values will allow us to further understand at what times the Panthers population started to decrease and why this happened. The data found through the Logistic Growth Equation proved that the Florida Panther population was decreasing and it did meet its carrying capacity.
